We are currently considering three cases.
3 September 2025 - Electricity Authority v South Pacific Energy
On 3 September 2025 the Electricity Authority filed a complaint with the Rulings Panel. The complaint alleges that South Pacific Energy Limited breached clauses 14A.6(2), 14.31(1)(a) and 14.32(1) of the Code when the retailer failed, on a number of occasions in 2024 and 2025, to meet payment deadlines and made deposits in incorrect accounts.
2 September 2025 - Electricity Authority v Transpower
On 2 September 2025 the Electricity Authority filed a complaint with the Rulings Panel. The complaint alleges that Transpower, as grid owner, breached clause 4(4)(a)(ii) of Technical Code A of Schedule 8.3 of the Electricity Industry Participation Code (Code) when the operation of a protection scheme was not selective, resulting in the temporary loss of supply to the Huirangi grid exit point (HUI0331) on 14 February 2023.
4 June 2025 - Electricity Authority v Transpower
On 4 June 2025 the Electricity Authority filed a complaint with the Rulings Panel. The complaint alleges that Transpower breached clause 12.113 of the Electricity Industry Participation Code 2010 when it failed to adhere to good electricity industry practice in connection with the maintenance of an interconnection asset which failed on 20 June 2024.
